HBA GF Scholarship

HBA GF Scholarship Overview: The Home Builders Association of Great Falls (HBAGF) has established a scholarship program. Each year, HBA GF will award scholarships to students pursuing post high school education. Awards have been presented annually since 1995.  Scholarships for 2012 will be a maximum of $1,000.00 per student.

There are two levels:

First, high school seniors who have been students of Industrial Arts or planning to study a field related to construction/building industry.  Students at local high schools may submit and meet the criteria below.

Second level, full time student in secondary (college/vocational) education with at least one year completed and meet the criteria below may request an application.  Preference is given to students completing their education within the Great Falls secondary education system. 

The Applicants must:

  • Be a full time student
  • Carry at least a 2.75 GPA
  • Concentration of studies within the construction/building industry
  • Show need

  • A completed application with their social security number
  • Cover letter
  • Resume
  • A letter of recommendation from an instructor within the construction/building industry
  • A letter of recommendation from a non-family member

Distribution of Funds: Upon award selection, HBA GF will send a check directly to the designated school. The scholarship award must be used in the 2012-2013 Academic Year (includes Fall 2012, Spring 2013, and Summer 2013). Subsequent Scholarships: Scholarship recipients are welcome to reapply for aid in subsequent academic years. Note: Previous scholarship recipients must submit a separate application for each subsequent award. Previous awards do not guarantee subsequent award selection. Application Deadline: Applicant is responsible to ensure that all application materials and requirements are submitted to The Home Builders Association of Great Falls by March 27, 2012. Application must be complete or it will not be considered. Notification: Scholarship recipients will be notified by May 2, 2012.
